Selling Homes (before vs after)

One of the most rewarding parts of working in real estate is seeing the transformation that happens between the first day I walk into a house and the day we list it for sale. I’m Brendan Moran with Five Star Real Estate, and let me tell you—some of these before-and-after stories are pretty amazing.

From cluttered and outdated to polished and photo-ready, it’s always exciting to see the end result of great prep work, smart staging, and strong marketing. Here are just a few examples of what this process looks like.

Buckingham Drive, Walnut Creek: Major Upgrade with Zero Upfront Cost

This home needed a lot of work before we could list it. Instead of putting that burden on the seller, we partnered with a renovation company that fronts the cost of the improvements. The seller didn’t pay a thing until the home sold—and by that point, the upgrades had paid off in a big way.

We work with several trusted companies that do this kind of work. If you're curious about how this could apply to your home, we’d love to talk.

Clover Drive: Clean, Fresh, and Buyer-Ready

This home didn’t need a full renovation, but staging made a huge difference. We removed all of the owner's furniture and brought in our own professional staging to give the home a fresh, updated look that buyers responded to immediately.

When a home is staged right, it’s not just us that sees the difference—the buyers see it too, and that translates into stronger offers.

Hall Lane, Walnut Creek: From Fixer to Showpiece

This was a classic fixer-upper when our seller bought it. Over time, they put in the work to modernize and upgrade the space. When it came time to sell, we added our final touches—professional staging, lighting, photography, and video marketing—and turned it into a showstopper.

This is what we mean when we say we prepare homes for the market, not just list them.
